Can You Get Robux Back? Refunds and Deleted Items
Roblox does not refund Robux. Its own policy says there is no way to get Robux back once a purchase is made, and that this covers accidental purchases and items you no longer use. Deleting an item yourself never returns anything.
There are two narrow exceptions. If an item you bought is later moderated or pulled by its creator, Roblox may — not will — return the Robux, and you have to ask. And if real money was charged to a card without permission, that is a billing matter rather than a Robux one: Roblox investigates card, PayPal and Google Play charges itself, but purchases made through Apple, Microsoft, Xbox, PlayStation, Samsung, Amazon or Meta can only be refunded by those stores. One warning worth taking seriously before you go to the bank: Roblox says accounts linked to unauthorised charges are subject to deletion, so contact support before disputing a charge, never after.
Roblox does not give Robux back. Its own support page is about as blunt as a policy gets: there is not a way to get Robux back once you have made a purchase, and that explicitly covers accidental purchases as well as items you bought and never used. If you came here hoping for a refund button, there is not one, and no third-party site has one either.
That is the short answer. The longer one is more useful, because there are two situations where something can still be done — and one common reaction that makes everything worse.
The default: no refunds, on purpose
Every Robux purchase inside the Avatar Shop or an experience puts a confirmation window in front of you first, showing the item, the price and the balance you will be left with. That window is the refund policy. Once you click through it, Roblox treats the transaction as final.
Deleting an item afterwards changes nothing. Neither does not liking it, growing out of it, or the experience you bought it in shutting down. Roblox says it is generally not able to offer a refund for items purchased within an experience, and in-experience currencies bought with Robux are a step further removed still.
When the item gets deleted or moderated
This is the situation people actually search for, and it is the one place the door is not fully shut. Roblox’s wording is careful: items that are moderated or removed from access by the creator may not be eligible for a refund.
“May not” is not “are not”. It means the outcome depends on the case, and that nothing happens unless you ask. If an item you paid for was taken down after you bought it — moderated for a rule break by its creator, or pulled from sale — it is worth contacting Roblox support with:
- your username;
- the item name and a link to its page;
- when you bought it, and what happened to it.
What will not work: asking for Robux back on an item you deleted yourself, on something you bought knowing it broke the rules, or on an item you created and had moderated. Those are not refund cases, and asking repeatedly does not turn them into one.
When real money was taken
This is a completely different problem from the one above, and it has a completely different answer. If a card was charged without permission — the classic version being a child buying Robux on a parent’s saved payment method — you are dealing with Roblox’s billing process, not its Robux policy.
Who you talk to depends entirely on who took the money:
- Card, PayPal or Google Play — Roblox’s billing department investigates these and can assist with eligible refunds. Contact Roblox support.
- Apple, Microsoft, Xbox, PlayStation, Meta Quest, Samsung or Amazon — Roblox states these charges cannot be refunded by Roblox at all. The refund has to be requested from that store, through its own support.
The mistake that costs the account
Before anyone goes to the bank: Roblox asks that you contact it before disputing a charge, and says that once a charge is disputed it can no longer provide a direct refund. It also says, in the same breath, that accounts associated with unauthorised charges are subject to deletion.
Read that twice, because it is the single most expensive thing on this page. A chargeback raised in frustration can end with the money returned and the account — years of items, friends and progress — gone. Support first, dispute last, and only if support cannot help.
The other lesson is the boring one: turn off saved payment details, and put a password on purchases. Every console and phone store supports it, and it prevents the entire category. Roblox’s account security guidance covers the rest of the ways an account leaks money.
What we can and cannot do
Worth saying plainly, because we get asked: we are not Roblox. Buxy cannot refund a Roblox purchase, restore a deleted item, reverse a charge or act on a Roblox account in any way. Nobody outside Roblox can, and anyone claiming otherwise is running a scam — the same machinery as the Robux generators, pointed at people who have just lost money and are desperate enough to try anything.
Roblox’s Terms of Use contain the billing policy in full, and Roblox support is the only route to a decision on any of this.
Spending so it does not happen again
Since the money is not coming back, the useful move is making the next purchase a deliberate one. Robux prices are tiered, so the same amount of money buys meaningfully different amounts depending on how you spend it — our Robux calculator prices any amount, and how much Robux $10, $25 and $50 buy shows where the value actually sits. If the goal is not spending at all, how to get Robux without buying them covers the routes that work.
Frequently asked questions
- Can you get Robux back after buying something?
- No. Roblox states plainly that there is not a way to get Robux back once you have made a purchase, and that this includes accidental purchases as well as items you have stopped using. The confirmation pop-up before every purchase is the only safeguard there is.
- Do you get Robux back if an item you bought gets deleted?
- Sometimes, but it is not automatic and it is not guaranteed. Roblox says items that are moderated or removed from access by the creator may not be eligible for a refund — "may not" rather than "are not", which is why it is worth contacting support with the item name, link and what happened. Deleting an item yourself returns nothing.
- How do I get a refund for an unauthorised Roblox charge?
- It depends who took the payment. For credit card, debit card, PayPal and Google Play charges, contact Roblox support and their billing team will investigate. For purchases made through Apple, Microsoft, Xbox, PlayStation, Meta Quest, Samsung or Amazon, Roblox cannot refund them at all — you have to go to that store.
- Should I do a chargeback on a Roblox purchase?
- Contact Roblox first. Roblox warns that accounts associated with unauthorised charges are subject to deletion, and that once a charge is disputed it can no longer refund you directly. A chargeback can end up costing the account as well as the Robux.
